In our two year old program, your child will begin to develop important skills. Children at this stage start to develop friendships and gain confidence as they use their words and thoughts to interact with others. A sample of a schedule included circle time, calendar, free play, music, arts, initial potty training, and nap time. It is important for children to express themselves creatively and we encourage all children to develop their unique abilities and interests.
Your Child’s Day
Your child’s day is filled with opportunities to explore and gain important skills. At this stage, they will develop their abilities with tracing letters, shapes, and numbers. The students will also increase their fine motor skills by holding crayons and pencil correctly, using scissors, stringing beads, and manipulating puzzles. Learning how to group and form sets by specified characteristics, counting, and letter recognition skills begin to develop in this stage.
Communication with Parents
Parents are able to provide useful information to the teacher in the morning. At the end of the day you receive a daily report with information on your child’s day. The sheet provides specific information on:
- Diaper changes and potty training
- Learning activities your child participated in during the day
- Important reminders of items to bring or other information
- Group Report summarizing the classroom’s day
